Rosemary Gillespie is an American evolutionary biologist. She currently the president of the International Biogeography Society. In the past, she has served at the president of the American Arachnological Society and the treasurer of the International Society of Arachnology. She is also the currently director of the Essig Museum of Entomology and a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. She is known for her work on the evolution of communities on hotspot archipelagoes. ==Education== Gillespie received her Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1986.
